More than 100 preschoolers at Loving and Learning Child Care in Oceanside gathered outside their classrooms, as cereal boxes dominoed through the corridors. On June 17, the boxes were donated by children and their families to the Long Beach Soup Kitchen.
Colleen Brady, director of Learning and Loving, said the center has hosted donations for the soup kitchen since 2014. In its fourth year, Brady said the cereal drive always has its charm.
“We feel it’s important to ‘teach them young,’ that helping others is an important lesson,” Brady said. “It’s definitely one of the drives that everyone looks forward to each year.”
