Firefighters and paramedics rushed to a North Hollywood construction site after receiving a report about a man who fell into a confined space, the Los Angeles Fire Department said Friday.

Officials said the man fell up to 45 feet into the concrete space at around 3:07 p.m. near Burbank Boulevard and Vineland Avenue.

It was not immediately clear how long the rescue operation would last.

By 3:40 p.m., firefighters were able to rescue the man and took him to a nearby hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

No firefighters were injured during the operation.
