A PICKLEBALL FUNDRAISER WAS HELD TODAY IN ELK GROVE TO BRING IN FUNDS TO HELP THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BEAGLE RESCUE. THE VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION IS LOOKING AFTER MULTIPLE DOGS THAT CAME FROM THE RICHLAND FARMS TESTING FACILITY IN WISCONSIN. HUNDREDS OF DOGS WERE RELEASED TO ANIMAL CARE GROUPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY EARLIER THIS YEAR, FOLLOWING ACCUSATIONS OF MISTREATMENT AT THE FACILITY. THE NORCAL BEAGLE RESCUE IS WORKING TO FIND THE DOGS FOREVER HOMES. WE HAVE 47 DOGS HERE. A pickleball fundraiser in Elk Grove raised funds to support the Northern California Beagle Rescue, a volunteer organization helping rescued dogs find permanent homes. The group is caring for multiple beagles that came from the Ridglan Farms testing facility in Wisconsin. Earlier this year, hundreds of dogs were released to animal care groups across the country following accusations of mistreatment at the facility. “We have 47 dogs here, many of them have been adopted, but we still have some that are being medically cleared, and they’re learning to become real beagles because they’ve lived in these cages for so long,” Mindy Yamasaki from the organization said. The Northern California Beagle Rescue, which has been operating in Elk Grove and the Bay Area for decades, said it has found homes for about 4,200 dogs during its history.
