The Los Angeles Rams made it to Super Bowl LVI in 2021, but since then, they have spent four seasons trying to return to the grandest stage of the NFL to no avail. They’ve come close over the past two seasons – winning the NFC West but losing in the Divisional Round of the playoffs in 2024, and taking second in the NFC West but advancing to the NFC Championship Game in 2025 before falling short to divisional rival Seattle.
It was pretty clear last season that the Rams were among the elite tier of teams in the NFL, and they’re hoping to stay there this coming season. But will they be able to re-take their spot atop the NFC West, and play once again for the biggest prize in the league? Let’s take a look at the Rams’ ceiling and floor for 2026.
Ceiling: 15-2
The Rams have every piece of the puzzle in place for a major run this season. The Rams have secured the top pass rusher in the league in Myles Garrett, as well as a pair of star cornerbacks in Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. Matthew Stafford is back, as are most of the major pieces of an offense that was at the top of the league last year. If everything comes together, the Rams could be a dominant force.
Floor: 10-7

Stafford shouldn’t be seen as invincible, given that he’s playing quarterback in the NFL in his 40’s. And if he gets hurt, there are questions about whether rookie Ty Simpson will be ready to step into a starting role and win consistently. There is enough talent that the roster can win some games in that situation, but you would expect a regression from where they are with Stafford.
