Oakland County Restaurant Quest: Virasat the Heritage Indian Cuisine in Rochester Hills
(Crystal A. Proxmire, June 27, 2026)
Rochester Hills, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to Virasat the Heritage Indian Cuisine in Rochester Hills. Virasat is a Hindi word that means heritage or legacy, and the food here shares traditions of India with their guests.
I started with beautiful rice and chicken dish – Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani – made with delicate slow-cooked chicken, basmati rice, and other mild flavors.
The Goat Korma provided a more earthy flavor with it’s creamy curry and bits of goat meat.
Saag paneer is a favorite Indian dish of mine, which has a spinach sauce with chunks of paneer cheese. And I also loved the crispy cauliflower with spicy breading. The garlic naan was a great choice for dipping in all of the other dishes.
The menu at Virasat the Heritage is rich with choices. Check out the Chicken Tikka, Sambar Rice, Egg Bhurji, Shrimp Szechuan Noodles, Gobhi Manchurian, Masala Papad and much more.
Virasat the Heritage is located at 2642 Crooks Rd in Rochester Hills. Enjoy a meal dining in or order online for carryout. The website is https://virasatindiancuisine.com/ .
