A man was killed on Sunday afternoon when he was struck by a trolley near the Old Town station, San Diego police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 12:45 p.m. on Taylor Street near Pacific Highway and Congress Street, said police Officer Sarah Foster.
Foster said several people called after the collision occurred.
Paramedics transported the man to the hospital, where he died. His name was not released.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Transit System said trolleys were able to operate on a single track around the incident. There were modest delays, but trolley service was able to operate in both directions.
San Diego police are investigating. No other information was immediately available.
