ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -Even with the season still a ways off, the Roanoke Railyard Dawgs have a major roster update.
Star goalie Austyn Roudebush—the SPHL’s all-time leader in wins—is leaving Roanoke and heading to Fresno, California, where he’ll play for the Fresno Falcons of the FPHL.
Roudebush spent seven seasons with the Dawgs and became one of the most recognizable faces in the franchise’s history. The high point of his run in the Star City came in 2023, when he was named MVP of the President’s Cup Playoffs during the postseason that delivered Roanoke’s first—and only—league championship.
With Roudebush moving on, the Dawgs will now have to find a replacement in net heading into the new season.
