The full 17-track show will be officially available

This summer, Kiss will commemorate the 50th anniversary of their Anaheim Stadium concert that saw them perform in front of their largest audience to date of 42,000 fans on August 20, 1976. Kiss Destroys Anaheim ’76 will be released on August 21st on CD, SHM-CD, and three vinyl editions via UMe.

For decades, the show was famous primarily as a highly traded bootleg among die-hard fans. However, the set has been officially mixed from the original multi-track master tapes by legendary producer Eddie Kramer and given an official live album release.

The concert was recorded on their Destroyer Tour, also known as The Spirit of ’76 Tour, supporting Destroyer. The concert featured the debut of their massive “destroyed city” stage set and was packed with fire, blood-spitting, a smoking guitar solo from Ace, and massive confetti storms. Drummer Peter Criss later recalled it as his favorite gig with the band because of the sheer, echoing roar of the stadium crowd.

The concert was a mini-festival of classic 70s rock, featuring an iconic opening lineup of Montrose, Bob Seger, and Ted Nugent.

The 60-plus minute concert will be available on 1 CD, 2 LP black vinyl, and 2 LP color vinyl with a booklet featuring liner note highlights from the deluxe version, unreleased photos and memorabilia imagery. The premium SHM-CD made in Japan (playable on all CD players) in a softpak case, along with a 60-page book filled with extensive liner notes by Ken Sharp, unreleased photos & memorabilia imagery – all showcased in a slipcase. A 2 LP picture disc version will also be bundled with a collectible coin and feature a 40-page book filled with extensive liner notes by Ken Sharp, unreleased photos & memorabilia imagery – all showcased in a slipcase.
