Several Oakland County communities have opened cooling centers to help residents beat this week’s extreme heat.

The National Weather Service forecasts extreme heat this week with the high for Wednesday at 101 degrees Farenheit and a heat index between 105 and 110 degrees. Thursday’s high will hover around 100 degrees before falling to 97 on Friday.

Summer heat can contribute to poor air quality and can affect the health of older adults, children and people with respiratory conditions. Community officials urge community members to check on family, friends, neighbors and pets to help ensure everyone stays healthy and safe

Auburn Hills

Community Center: 3350 E. Seyburn Drive. Open Tuesday-Thursday, June 30-July 2, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Closed Friday – Sunday, July 3 – 5, for the holiday.

Berkley
