(KRON) — A locally owned coffee shop in San Francisco’s Lower Haight was broken into. Out There Coffee Roasters, located at 254 Fillmore St., had its glass on the front entrance smashed Tuesday morning, the cafe announced on social media.
It wasn’t made clear how much or what was stolen from the business. The cafe tells KRON4 the damage and theft weren’t too extensive.
Despite the break-in, the establishment remained open on Tuesday. The cafe seems optimistic about its recovery as it has insurance.
“Owning a small business isn’t always easy, but it’s always been worth it. We love what we do, and we’re grateful to be part of this community. Thank you to everyone who has checked in and supported Out There Coffee over the last six years,” Out There wrote on social media. “We’ll keep showing up. Just like we always have!!!”

Out There began six years ago with a series of pop-ups before opening its brick-and-mortar cafe in 2024.
Out There is the second San Francisco cafe to have suffered an incident this week. About half a mile away, popular coffee shop, The Mill, was forced to temporarily close after a fire burned inside the business early Monday morning. No one was hurt.
