• FLSB World Championship Send-Off Concert: 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, First Baptist Church of Troy, 2601 John R Road, Troy. Five Lakes Silver Band is performing part of their contest program featuring Marshall Gilkes at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Netherlands later this July. Five Lakes Silver Band is among 12 of the world’s most elite brass bands competing. The first portion of the concert will be a preview of the contest program. The Band will perform Mirage by Jan Van Der Roost, the required set test piece. And then a 35 minute Own Choice Program. The second half will include fan-favorites and concert staples as well as selections from both of the FLSB’s recent albums. The concert will also feature a big band interpretation of Stars and Stripes Forever, followed by a special Motown selection featuring Marshal Gilkes.
