(KRON) — The San Jose Police Department is investigating the city’s 23rd fatal collision and traffic-related death of the year after a motorcyclist died in late June, days after crashing into a vehicle in a business parking lot.

SJPD said officers responded on June 22 to a crash in the 1000 block of North Tenth Street.
Investigators believe a man was traveling northbound on North Tenth Street, in a beige 2001 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, when he turned left into a business parking lot and was hit by a man going southbound in a black 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The male driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and is working with police.
The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital for severe injuries and was later stabilized before he died from his injuries on July 1, San Jose police confirmed in a statement to KRON4.
His identity has not yet been released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner.
