A Farmington Hills man accused of brutally murdering his grandmother at a Farmington Hills home where they lived together was arraigned Thursday on criminal charges and denied bond.
Zeff Nikollbibaj, 34, is charged with first-degree homicide and felony firearm for the death of Ana Nikollbibaj, 78.
It’s alleged Zeff Nikollbibaj shot his grandmother in the head on June 30, killing her, and a contributing factor was blunt force trauma to the head from being bludgeoned with a metal pry bar, officials said.

According to the Farmington Hills Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home in the 30000 block of Middlebelt Road at around 9:40 a.m. this past Tuesday in response to a 911 from a man reporting that his brother had attacked their grandmother with a metal pole and she was unconscious. The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office said officers found Ana Nikollbibaj on her bedroom floor, with severe head trauma and lacerations. A spent firearm shell was found near her body, the prosecutor’s office said.
Zeff Nikollbibaj was arrested after a brief standoff at the home, police said. Several firearms and other evidence were removed from the home, police said.
Ana Nikollbibaj was transported to Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital where she was pronounced dead. During the medical examination, a bullet was recovered, the prosecutor’s office said.
“Ana Nikollbibaj’s murder is especially shocking because the alleged killer is her grandson,” Prosecutor Karen McDonald stated in a news release. “Sadly, this is a reminder that domestic violence takes many forms. While nothing we do will bring Ana back, we will work to hold her killer accountable.”
At the arraignment, it was noted that Zeff Nikollbibaj was on probation at the time of the slaying — and that he has a history of run-ins with police and personal protective orders filed against him, but no convictions for assaultive behavior.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Zeff Nikollbibaj faces life in prison without parole. Felony firearm carries a penalty of two years incarceration to be served consecutively from an other related sentence.
Nikollbibaj’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 10 for a pre-exam conference before 47th District Judge Marla Parker.
