Long Beach police say the suspect in the shooting death Thursday morning of 38-year-old Neville Conner, a father from Long Beach, is in custody.
Hollis Wayne Russ, 38, from Vancleave, has been charged with one count of murder, according to Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal. Russ has been taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held on a $1 million bond.
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said that Conner died of multiple gunshot wounds Thursday morning. An autopsy will be performed next week, Switzer said.

Emergency medical responders and Long Beach police found Conner dead in a house in the 1800 block of Allen Road, Police Chief Billy Seal said. Conner lives on Royal Street, not the house where he died.
Seal said multiple people were in the home when Conner was shot. Someone at the house called 911 to report the shooting, he said.
Police responded around 4:40 a.m., he said, adding, “We are in the early stages of the investigation.”
Long Beach police ask that anyone with information about the incident call the police department at 228-865-1981 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
