Four people were arrested last weekend in a suspected retail theft ring after a traffic stop.

At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the LAPD pulled over a car in the San Fernando Valley that was sought in connection with retail thefts in the Burbank area, Burbank police told NBC4 Investigates.

Burbank police responded to the scene. Authorities determined four people in the car were wanted in connection with warrants for multiple prior retail thefts in Burbank, police said.

Officers searched the car and found evidence of retail theft, including items used to defeat security sensors designed to deter theft. Three women, ages 28, 25 and 42, and a 46-year-old man were booked on suspicion of organized retail theft and receiving stolen property.

The group also is suspected of ID theft to aid in the thefts.

The investigation is still ongoing and will be sent to prosecutors for charges.
