More than 2,400 Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers lost power Thursday evening in San Francisco, according to the utility.
The outage was reported at 7:12 p.m. and affected an estimated 2,413 customers, according to PG&E. Its outage map showed the affected area spanning parts of the Mission, Mission Bay and nearby South of Market and Potrero Hill areas.

PG&E said a crew was working to restore power. The utility estimated restoration by 1:45 a.m. Friday for all customers.
The outage was unplanned, PG&E said. The utility said its crews were evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make repairs before safely restoring service.
The cause was not immediately clear.
The outage followed several other recent power disruptions in San Francisco.
Thousands of PG&E customers lost power in separate outages last week, including one that affected parts of Golden Gate Park, Inner Sunset, Haight-Ashbury, Mount Sutro and Castro, and another that affected areas around the Mission and Potrero Hill neighborhoods.
