The San Diego Padres (43-44) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (58-31) meet Saturday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze MLB odds around the Padres vs. Dodgers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Dodgers lead 6-2
The Padres have dropped the first 2 games of this series, including a narrow 4-3 loss Friday as heavy underdogs (+210). However, San Diego covered the run line as a dog as the Under (7.5) cashed. CF Jackson Merrill finished 2 for 4 with a solo home run and 2 runs scored, but the Padres were unable to avoid a seventh consecutive loss. The Over is 3-1 in the Padres’ past 4 outings, too.
The big blow for the Dodgers on Friday was a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning by LF Teoscar Hernandez, providing L.A.’s only offensive output. The Dodgers have won 6 of their past 7 games and are 9-2 in their previous 11 outings. The Over has a 3-2 edge in the past 5 games and is 5-3 in the previous 8 contests.

Padres at Dodgers picks and predictionsPrediction
Dodgers 8, Padres 2
The Dodgers (-250) will set you back 2 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too expensive for a singular play. If you were to use L.A. in a multi-leg parlay, it would be OK to use.
However, AVOID as a straight up play.
The DODGERS -1.5 (-120) are a strong play on the run line. In fact, if you’re really adventurous, consider DODGERS -2.5 (+130) – ALTERNATE LINE, as that’s how bad Canning has been pitching. And, the Padres are really struggling. Keep striking while the iron is hot.
OVER 8.5 (-115) is worth a look, as we play against Canning. The way he has pitched, the Dodgers could pile up the runs against him, doing most of the heavy lifting to get this one across the finish line.
