L.A. County services run at no cost until the early morning of Nov. 5
The Los Angeles Metro wants YOU to vote.
For Election Day, rides on the Metro bus, rail and bike share and Metro Micro are free across Los Angeles County to make voting easier and accessible.
Free rides run from Nov. 4 to Nov. 5 at 3 a.m. Parking at Metro parking lots is also free for the day.
Additionally, a number of Metro stations have ballot drop boxes. Before beginning your commute, you can drop your ballot at Union Station (east portal), El Monte Bus Transit Center (plaza area), Harbor Gateway Transit Center (transit plaza area), Harbor Freeway C Line (park and ride area), Hollywood/Western B Line (plaza area), North Hollywood B Line (east plaza area), Norwalk C Line (east plaza area), Pomona North A Line (west parking lot area), Westlake/MacArthur Park B & D Lines (courtyard area) and Wilshire/Vermont B and D Lines (courtyard area).
For those who prefer to vote in person, the Metro headquarters at Union Station have a voting center open today until 8 a.m.
Angelenos have just one item to vote for this Election Day, which elsewhere across the country includes the New York City mayor and New Jersey and Virginia governor races. Californians’ ballots must decide whether or not they approve Prop. 50., dubbed The Election Rigging Response Act. A counteraction to Texas’ Republican-favoring redistricting plan by Gov. Gavin Newsom, the redistricting measure would allow California Democrats more seats in the House of Representatives. These temporary congressional district maps would be in place through 2030 and have one-time costs to counties of up to a few million dollars statewide to update election materials.
