1 man killed, another injured in Rancho Cordova stabbing, sheriff says
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said this initially was a 1 a.m. call about an argument.

One man is dead and another injured after a stabbing in Rancho Cordova, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office said its communications center received a call around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning for multiple people who appeared to be in an argument in the intersection of El Mercado Drive and Chettenham Drive. When deputies arrived at the intersection north of Sacramento Mather Airport, they said they found one adult man with a stab wound. Deputies requested the fire department and, despite medical aid, the man was pronounced dead on scene. Another adult man was transported to a hospital for a laceration to the head, according to officials.The sheriff’s office said its crime scene investigators and homicide detectives are investigating, noting several other people were present at the scene and will be interviewed.
