OAKLAND — A 32-year-old man was shot Sunday evening in East Oakland and three suspects were later arrested, authorities said.
The man was in critical but stable condition at a hospital where he is being treated for a wound to the groin area, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 5 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of 30th Avenue and International Boulevard.
According to initial police reports, the man got into a verbal dispute with two men, ages 49 and 39 and a 40-year-old woman before one of the men allegedly shot him.
What the dispute was about and whether the man shot knew the suspects was not released by police.
The suspects fled to a nearby van where a rifle believed used in the shooting was left before the suspects went to another location on 26th avenue where they were arrested, authorities said. The rifle was recovered by police.
The suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault with a firearm and other charges and were booked at Santa Rita Jail.
