Downtown Sacramento’s K Street has been transformed with a new LED lighting system designed to improve visibility, enhance pedestrian safety, and create a more welcoming environment.The new lights stretch from Downtown Commons to the Safe Credit Union Convention Center. The Sacramento Downtown Partnership introduced the programmable lights to enhance the area.”Lighting is foundational, you know, without a clean, safe, vibrant, welcoming environment. Any commercial corridor like the K Street Mall is not going to reach its full potential. So we knew that lighting was a foundational investment upon which everything else is going to be built upon,” said Scott Ford, the deputy director from the Downtown Partnership.The lighting system honors K Street’s historic marquee heritage and can be adjusted to create a different ambiance each night. “The beauty of this system is that it can change any color on demand.
