Yoga for novices, children and seasoned veterans alike can take advantage of the free Yoga at the Hill later this month at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights.

Yoga at the Hill, sponsored by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners and Bodhi Seed Yoga & Wellness, will be held for the 11th year on July 25th at the park located on Metro Parkway, east of Schoenherr Road.

The nonprofit Yoga Alliance says, “Yoga is more than an individual practice — it’s a path to connection, shared knowledge, community care, and global well-being.” The word comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj,” meaning “to unite” or join.

Those who pre-register will receive a free t-shirt, and all attendees will be eligible for raffle prizes that are donated by commissioners to support their local businesses.

From 9 to 9:50 a.m., a basic-yoga session will be held in the large pavilion and children’s yoga will be held in the small pavilion. At 10 a.m., intermediate yoga will take place in the large pavilion and chair yoga will be held in the small pavilion.

The classes will be led by Bodhi Seed instructors, and there will be raffle prizes awarded during the 9:50-10 a.m. break.
