BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 34-year-old man was arrested on attempted murder charges after four people, including a minor, were found shot early Sunday in Oildale, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded on July 5, 2026, around 1:40 a.m. to the 200 block of Decatur Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, deputies found four people who had been shot, including a minor.
The people were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, a KCSO official said.
A suspect, Tyler Boyer, was arrested later that day around 4:45 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available, KCSO said.
Jail records indicate that Boyer’s bail was set at $2 million and that he is due in court tomorrow, but that is not confirmed at this time.
