A Highland Township man is jailed with bond set at $5 million, facing a felony charge for allegedly killing a motorcyclist in a traffic crash on June 29 in White Lake Township.
Brian Timothy McCullen, 54, is charged with operating while license suspended/revoked/denied – causing death. He was arraigned on July 3 in 52-2 District Court, where the high bond — with no 10% provision — was set by Magistrate Lewis Langham.
The victim was identified as Charles Thomas Murphy, 70, of Holly. He died at the scene.

According to White Lake Township police, Murphy was on a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling east on White Lake Road near Teggerdine Road when he was struck by a Dodge Caravan traveling west on White Lake Road. McCullen was injured in the crash but subsequently cleared by medical staff and arrested by police.
McCullen’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 13 for a probable cause conference before Judge Michael Fabrizio. A preliminary exam is scheduled for a week later.
