The move comes after the Kings finished the 2025-26 season with a 22-60 record and failed to make the playoffs. Jackson had been an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers since 2023 before returning to the Kings, where he has deep ties.He was previously an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings from 2011-2013 and went on to become the head coach of the NBA G-League’s Stockton Kings in 2021.Jackson had a 12-year NBA career that overlapped with Christie’s when both played for Sacramento. Like Christie, Jackson was also part of the golden era of the Kings from 2000 to 2005. The team made the Western Conference Finals in 2003 and Jackson won the Sixth Man of the Year award that year.
