BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Rock Church announced a community outreach event next week during which community members in need can receive free food and other resources.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 18, in the Rock Church parking lot at 1400 Norris Rd., according to organizers. The event is expected to be held outdoors.

The giveaway is first come, first served. Participants will need to provide some form of identification, organizers said.

The church also asked participants to bring a cellphone to help in the registration process.

The community outreach event usually takes place on the third Saturday of each month.
