OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (News 10) – Charles Pace of Virginia, the man accused of driving drunk at the time of a crash that killed an entire Oakland County family, has been denied bond.
Pace, who was in Michigan the week of the crash for work, was arraigned Tuesday on four counts of second-degree murder and four counts of operating in connection with the July 1 crash.
Prosecutors allege Pace, 27, was speeding at more than 90 mph and “weaving in and out of lanes” in a Ford F-250 on I-75 that night when he hit a Chrysler 300 that was disabled on the side of the freeway.
All four occupants inside — 23-year-old Zakeroa Dodson, 24-year-old Tieree Powell and their children 3-year-old Nalani and 2-year-old Karter — were all killed.

MSP investigators say Pace had a blood alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit.
During Tuesday’s arraignment, Pace’s bond was denied due to the severity of charges and having no ties to the state. His next court date has been scheduled for July 14.
