CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – An Iowa man killed in a B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base last month has his funeral services set.
35-year-old Maj. Brad Hovey of Algona was one of eight people who died in the crash.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16 at New Hope Church in Adel from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m, according to an obituary.
The funeral service, which is open to friends and family, will be held on Friday, July 17 at 1:30 p.m. A private graveside service will be held after at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds honored Maj. Hovey in a statement after his death.
She said, “Along with every Iowan, Kevin and I mourn the loss of Maj. Brad Hovey and we offer our sincere condolences and prayers for his family. Again, we are reminded of the incredible sacrifice demanded of every American who chooses to serve our country. As we honor Maj. Hovey’s life and service, let us never forget the cost of our freedom.”
