A 52-year-old California, Missouri woman was airlifted after receiving serious injuries in a Moniteau County crash Tuesday night.
The crash occurred as a 2026 Peterbilt 579 semitruck tried to pass a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by the woman, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. While the semi tried to pass the car, the car made a left turn in front of it and the semi collided with the car, according to the crash report.
The incident was on U.S. Highway 50 at Route H around 8:55 p.m., according to the report.
The semi driver, a 57-year-old Columbia man, had no listed injuries. The car’s driver was transported to University Hospital, according to the report.
The car was totaled and the semi sustained moderate damage, according to the report.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
