A woman who was reportedly beaten and forced into a car in an apparent kidnapping in Oakland’s Laurel neighborhood last week has been found physically unharmed, police said Tuesday evening.
At about 9:30 p.m. Friday, a man hit the woman with a handgun and then forced her into a dark colored four-door sedan in the 4200 block of Redding Street, police said. He then drove west on Redding Street with the woman in the car.
On Tuesday evening, police said that the suspect was detained and later released, pending further investigation.
