Officers are in a standoff Wednesday morning with a possibly armed person in Los Angeles’ MacArthur Park.
Police responded to the park west of downtown Los Angeles for a reported of an assault with a deadly weapon. Details about the assault were not immediately available.
Authorities said the person appeared to simulate holding a gun in the altercation, then ran into the restroom and refused to come out.
The park has been the site of several recent law enforcement operations targeting gang activity and illicit drug distribution.
