A shooting broke out after an argument between a group of people outside a Logan Heights apartment complex, leaving a 46-year-old man dead, San Diego police said Wednesday.

The deadly shooting happened just before 9 p.m. outside an apartment complex on Webster Avenue, where one man was found with two gunshot wounds, another was arrested on a murder charge, and two others were detained by police, SDPD Lt. Cesar Jimenez said.

Medics transported the 46-year-old man to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators learned all four individuals, who knew each other, were involved in some kind of altercation before the shooting. Police said the deceased man was also involved in a relationship with one of the three other individuals.

SDPD said their investigation led them to arrest 23-year-old Jamie Roberts on a count of murder. Further details regarding the fight and the connection between the parties were not disclosed.

Detectives remained at the scene on Wednesday to continue their investigation.
