FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man is dead after being struck by a car in northwest Fresno.
It happened after 11 pm Tuesday at Herndon and Polk.
Police say a 34-year-old man was walking in the middle of westbound Herndon when a large SUV heading west on Herndon hit the man.
He was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
No drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Police say it appears the pedestrian is at fault due to walking in the roadway.
