HAZMAT TEAM THERE ON SCENE. NOW. YES, SACRAMENTO COUNTY HAS MET. DEPARTMENT WORKER JUST SHOWED UP AT THE SCENE. YOU CAN SEE THEIR VEHICLE HERE. WE NOTICED THAT SHE’S GOING TO ASSESS THE SITUATION BECAUSE AS WE HAVE OBSERVED SINCE WE ARRIVED THIS MORNING, THERE WAS A LOT OF FLUID THAT LEAKED FROM THIS BIG RIG AFTER THE CRASH THIS MORNING. YOU CAN SEE IT OUT ON THE ROADWAY. IN FACT, AS WE WERE MAKING OUR WAY AROUND THE SCENE, WE WERE SLIPPING AND SLIDING ON IT. IT’S KIND OF REDDISH IN COLOR. I’M SURE BRIAN HICKEY HAS A READ ON WHAT EXACTLY THAT FLUID IS. NOT SURE WHETHER IT’S FUEL OR SOME TYPE OF OTHER LUBRICANT FOR THIS VEHICLE. THIS BIG RIG CRASH HAPPENED AROUND 430 THIS MORNING, AND IT HAS TIED UP THE ROAD EVER SINCE. THESE ARE THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF WALERGA ROAD JUST OFF OF ELVERTA. A BIG RIG WAS HIT BY A PICKUP TRUCK, AND THE PICKUP TRUCK DRIVER IS NOW BEING TREATED AT THE HOSPITAL WILL BE BOOKED ON SUSPICION OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. THE DRIVER OF THE BIG RIG IS OKAY. ALL OF THIS IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION BY CHP WILL TRACK THE DEVELOPMENTS OUT HERE AND LET YOU KNOW WHEN THE ROAD REOPENS. BUT FOR NOW, OBVIOUSLY A BIG CLEANUP AHEAD FOR THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER AND THE HAZMAT TEAM.
