A water main break in the Talmadge neighborhood has closed off a portion of El Cajon Boulevard on Thursday morning.
The water main break was reported around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday at 5300 El Cajon Boulevard, prompting a closure in both directions between 54th and 53rd Street.
The water main break seemed to have impacted residences and local businesses.

“At first I thought a fire hydrant broke, but when we came out here we saw the street broken and water coming out,” said Daniel Gomez, a resident in the area.
Crews are on site working to repair the main break.
The cause of the water main break is unclear.
