Leaders on Friday announced new funding to upgrade the lighting at nine East Bay BART stations.
BART is receiving $850,000 to install LED lights at the Coliseum, Downtown Berkeley, Fruitvale, Lake Merritt, MacArthur, Rockridge, San Leandro, North Berkeley and West Oakland stations.
East Bay Congresswoman Lateefah Simon helped secure the funding for stations in her district.
