Oakland County Restaurant Quest:  Mona Lisa Pizza in Waterford

Waterford, MI – Mona Lisa Pizza is a carryout spot located inside the Clintonville Market, which is a neighborhood party store packed with snacks and alcohol choices.

My Mona Lisa feast started with Greek Pasta. This was a cold pasta dish with chopped veggies and Greek dressing, a classic party store deli dish that Mona Lisa’s does well.

There were BBQ chicken skewers, delightfully messy, wrapped in foil. The sauce was tangy and there was lots of it, so extra napkins are a must for this appetizer.

And of course for the main dish I tried one of their specialty pizzas – the Hawaiian. This is made with diced ham, pineapple, and mozzarella.The dough is a typical hand-tossed style, with plenty of bubbles in the crust, and the cooking made the pineapple slices get just a little bit browned, leaving the juicy sweet bites to contrast with the salt of the ham.

For dessert, who could go wrong with a slice of chocolate cake with chocolate icing?

Other specialty pizzas include the Chicken Alfredo, the BBQ Chicken, Meat Lovers, and Supreme.  There’s also Chicago-style deep dish available.  And of course there are bread sticks for those who can’t get enough of that soft, warm dough. There is even a Twice Baked Potato Pizza topped with mashed potatoes, mozzarella, cheddar, and bacon.

There are other deli salads as well, including a Classic Fruit Salad, Seafood Salad, and Chef Salad.

Mona Lisa Pizza also serves up Entertaining Trays of their popular items like Lasagna, Chicken Alfredo, and Mostaccioli.
