A semi truck snagged a low-hanging communication wire Friday, bringing down PG&E poles and briefly sparking a grass fire in Fresno.
Officers with the Fresno Police Department responded just after 1:15 p.m. to the area of Dakota and Brawley avenues.
According to police, the semi was traveling west on Dakota Avenue from Blythe Avenue when it caught a low-hanging communication wire attached to a PG&E pole.
The force of the wire being pulled sheared off one of the utility poles, police said.
The damaged power line also sparked a small grass fire on a nearby property. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no damage was reported to the home.
Police said the semi’s front mirror was damaged, and the utility poles were also damaged.
No injuries were reported.
