(FOX40.COM) — Visiting Sacramento County’s regional parks is a peaceful way for families to spend the summer, but parking fees can transform a budget-friendly option into a costly excursion. 

Sacramento County created a solution for the dashboard’s ever-growing pile of parking receipts with the Staycation Parks Pass — a one-time expense that covers parking for the rest of the season. 

The pass costs $25 and gives patrons unlimited access to more than 15 thousand acres of land from now through September 30. 

Parking ordinarily costs eight dollars, with fees reaching $30 for larger buses. Since school is out, FOX40 did the math. Just four trips to any of Sacramento County Regional Park’s sprawling open spaces, trails or historical sites will more than cover the pass’s cost. 

Ken Casparis, public information officer for the county’s regional parks, says it’s not just about the savings, but the variety of experiences this pass unlocks. 

“Each park offers something different,” Casparis said. “We have so many beautiful facilities right here in people’s backyard.”

To purchase the Staycation Parks Pass, patrons can either visit the Sacramento County website or go in person to the Sacramento County Regional Parks Office.
