Manny Machado turned 34 earlier this month. He fouled a ball off his left toe on Tuesday and was out of the lineup Wednesday.

He’ll get four days off next week for the All-Star break, but the Padres are giving him a second day off his feet on Sunday as he’ll serve as the DH for a second straight game.

Sunday’s first pitch is at 1:10 p.m. on Padres.TV.

Machado (.700 OPS) will bat fourth, between shortstop Xander Bogaerts (.650 OPS) and Gavin Sheets (.754), who’ll get the start in left field as Fernando Tatis Jr. (.721 OPS) starts in right field and Jake Cronenworth (.553 OPS) starts at second base.

Sung-Mun Song (.605 OPS) will start at third base in place of Machado, whose .196 batting average is ranked third worst among MLB qualifiers.

Machado is hitting .262/.360/.579 with eight homers and 22 RBIs in his last 29 games.

Luis Campusano had been slated to start, but he was scratched with abdominal soreness unrelated to his previous oblique injury.

Campusano is expected to be available off the bench.

Rodolfo Durán (.554 OPS) will start behind the plate.
