Two of three men involved in the stabbing of a man in broad daylight in Santa Ana pleaded guilty Thursday and were sentenced to five years in prison.
Andrew Santiago Gonzalez, 20, and Eyving Jair Vasquez, 20, pleaded guilty to a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon with a sentencing enhancement for gang activity.
Vasquez was given credit for 868 days behind bars and Gonzalez had credit for 1,330 days in custody.
Co-defendant Jose Eduardo Mandujanofierros, 23, pleaded guilty June 15 to attempted murder with sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated murder, personal use of a deadly weapon and inflicting great bodily injury on the victim. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison June 15, and given credit for 564 days behind bars.
The victim was attacked about noon on Aug. 6, 2024 at Sullivan Street and McFadden Avenue, police said. The victim was stabbed multiple times in his stomach.
The criminal complaint alleged the victim was attacked with a knife and pipe.
The victim got into a dispute with the defendants at a park, police said.
