BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for help in finding a missing 16-year-old boy.
Police said Samuel Matthew Lara was last seen on July 13, 2026, at 9 a.m., in the 1000 block of S Tulare Street, near Union and California Avenues.
Lara is described as Hispanic, 5’4” tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray shirt, black pants, and a black backpack.

He is considered at risk due to being a first-time runaway and having a medical diagnosis.
