The case against a Farmington Hills woman facing criminal charges for a traffic crash that killed one Oakland County road worker and injured two others has advanced to Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial.
Kimberly Regina Taylor, 60, is charged with moving violation causing death in a work zone — a 15-year felony — and two counts of moving violation causing injury in a work zone, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail. The crash happened July 23, 2025 on Orchard Lake Road where a Road Commission of Oakland County crew was working. According to the Farmington Hills Police Department, the three men were struck by an SUV driven by Taylor.

Cedric Jones, 43 — a married father of six — died at the scene. Co-workers George Thomas, 55, and Robert Dinkins, 57, were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The case was recently bound over from 47th District Court to the higher court after Taylor waived her right to a preliminary exam. Arraignment is scheduled for July 21 before Judge Victoria Valentine.
Taylor is out of custody on a $5,000 personal bond, which requires no cash or surety to be posted.
