A man died and another was hospitalized after an early-morning stabbing in southwest Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched at 4:30 a.m.
Monday to the 4500 block of Frazier Avenue, in the neighborhood behind the Outback Steakhouse along Stockdale Highway, for a report of a stabbing.
KCSO said two adult male victims were found with injuries.
Both were taken to the hospital for treatment, and one of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A neighbor reported seeing people gathered around a driveway and a large police presence but did not want to be interviewed.
Other nearby residents either were not home or did not want to speak on camera.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and no further details were available.
