OAKLAND — A deputy sheriff was injured Tuesday when officers used pepper spray to arrest an Oakland woman who allegedly destroyed her neighbor’s front porch property and attempted to kick in the front door of the victim’s residence, according to the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office.

The injured deputy was treated at Garrett Regional Medical Center following the 10:30 a.m. incident that occurred in the 14000 block of Garrett Highway.

Police said Jodi Lynn Blank, 54, was taken into custody after investigating officers approached her residence where she became combative and spat on a deputy.

The arrest was made by deputies who utilized pepper spray to subdue the suspect without further incident.

Blank was jailed on charges of assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and related offenses, police said.
