Hula, Hawaiian culture, island food and shopping will take center stage as the 17th Annual George Naʻope Hula Festival returns to Sacramento from Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19 at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 2001 Point West Way.The three-day festival features a hula competition with hālau (hula groups) traveling from California, Hawaiʻi, Nevada, Arizona and Washington to showcase their talent and celebrate Hawaiian culture.This morning on My58, Kumu Hulu Nui Rick San NIcolas told KCRA that a limited number of tickets remain for Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $30, with tickets available at the door only. Online ticket sales have closed.Visitors can also enjoy more than 40 island-inspired craft and food vendors at no cost. Shopping is free and open to the public, featuring vendors from California and Hawaiʻi offering handmade crafts, clothing, artwork, jewelry, specialty foods and more.Wednesday morning on KCRA News on My58, a halau from Aiea, Oahu gave a preview of some of the performances you’ll see this weekend.
