(FOX40.COM) — A suspect was arrested in connection with the stabbing at McClatchy Park early Tuesday morning, the Sacramento Police Department said.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to reports of an assault in the 3500 block of 5th Avenue in Oak Park, where they found a man with at least one stab wound. The man later died at the scene, the police department said.

The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after next-of-kin are notified, Sac PD said.

Officers arrested the suspect, 21-year-old Maximus Morgan of Sacramento, and booked him into the Sacramento County Main Jail Tuesday.

Morgan faces a felony murder charge and is not eligible for bail, according to jail records. His next court date is scheduled for July 16 at 1:30 p.m.

Sac PD is offering a reward of $1,000 to any witnesses with information relevant to the investigation into the stabbing. Witnesses can call the dispatch center at 916-808-5471 or the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers line at 916-443-4357. Callers remain anonymous, the department said.
