BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — More than two decades after Wendy Kyle was found dead in her burning Oildale home, Kern County sheriff’s detectives are again asking for the public’s help in solving her killing.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is requesting information from anyone who was at the Mint Bar in downtown Bakersfield on the night of Kyle’s murder, May 29, 2001.

Prosecutors say Kyle was brutally stabbed to death and was found in her burning home in Oildale on May 29, 2001. Her murder remains unsolved.
Detectives urge anyone with information, no matter how minor, to contact detective Thompson at (661) 681-3110 or the Secret Witness line at (661) 322-4040.
Investigators also encouraged people who have already spoken with law enforcement to reach out again if they recall additional details.
