Oak Park Hosting Series of Town Hall Events About Millage

OAK PARK, MI. — The City of Oak Park is encouraging residents to learn more about the upcoming Public Safety Renewal Millage proposals that will appear on the August 4, 2026 ballot by attending a series of town hall meetings and grassroots community outreach events throughout July.
City Manager Erik Tungate, Public Safety Director Steve Cooper, and key members of the city administration will host multiple opportunities for residents to receive information, ask questions, and learn how the proposed millage renewals support police, fire, and emergency medical services in Oak Park.
The informational meetings will include formal presentations from city leadership, public question-and-answer sessions, and informational tables at community events where residents can speak directly with city representatives.
“Public safety remains one of the most important services we provide to our residents,” said City Manager Erik Tungate. “These meetings are designed to ensure voters have access to transparent information about the millage proposals and understand how these investments support public safety personnel, emergency services, equipment, and operations throughout our community.”
