Sacramento County’s Department of Regional Parks oversees around 15,000 acres of park space. On July 9, the department announced a summer-only “Staycation Parks Pass” that covers parking at the sites it oversees for a flat fee.

According to the department’s website, visitors who bring vehicles into regional parks pay $8 for parking. Vehicles with trailers cost $15 and buses must pay $30.

By purchasing the Staycation Parks Pass for $25, however, park goers can enter with their own vehicles without paying for each individual visit. The special offer runs until Sept. 30 of this year.

Staycation Parks Passes can be purchased online at the county’s purchasing portal and mailed to your home. However, if you visit the Sacramento County Regional Parks office in person to purchase a pass, there will be free swag while supplies last.

“Swag items may include a cooling towel, drawstring backpack, beach ball, flying disc, reusable cup and other giveaways that support the County’s ongoing ‘Life Looks Good on You’ river safety campaign,” the press release noted.

The office’s address is 10361 Rockingham Drive, Suite 100. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and on Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m.

The Department of Regional Parks sells an annual park pass for $70 (or $130 for vehicles with boats or trailers). It also offers discounted low-income and senior passes.

Sacramento County’s regional parks include Discovery Park, William B. Pond Recreation Area, Ancil Hoffman and Sailor Bar. The full list of parks is available on the Sacramento County website.
